Curriculum Board Meeting - Different Meeting Location
The Kanawha County Schools Board of Education will host its monthly curriculum board meeting at 4 p.m. today. The meeting is open to the public.
This meeting will be held at the Edison Staff Development Center in South Charleston.

The agenda can be found using the link below👇

KCS will operate on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Monday, February 2nd.
Temperatures aren’t expected to warm much during the delay, the purpose of the delay is to allow travel in daylight rather than early morning darkness.
Our maintenance staff has been working all weekend to clear parking lots and sidewalks, but icy spots may still be present. Please use caution getting in and out of vehicles and entering school buildings.
Some areas of the county may still have unsafe roads. Families should use their best judgment, and if travel isn’t safe, please don’t risk it. Bus route changes will be posted on the KCS website this evening and text messages will be sent out in the morning.
Staff, please report at your normal time. If you are not able to safely do so, please contact your supervisor.
We’re excited to see everyone back!

5-for-5 is great… when you’re at the plate.
This week? Not so much.
It’s been a long and chilly week, and we know everyone is ready for clearer roads and more familiar routines. We truly miss seeing our students in our classrooms and hallways!
Due to ice still covering roadways in parts of the county, KCS will continue with remote learning tomorrow, Friday January 30th. Students have offline work available, with assignments also accessible in Schoology. If power or internet is an issue, work can be completed and turned in later.
Here’s hoping the ice gives us a break this weekend so we can welcome everyone back on Monday. Stay warm and safe, KCS families 💙

Due to weather conditions, Kanawha County Schools will have a remote learning day tomorrow, Thursday, January 29th.
Students should have been assigned work that can be completed offline. If students do not have their work downloaded, it is available to download in Schoology. Teachers will be available during school hours to help and answer questions.
If you are without power or internet, students can complete and turn in their work later as makeup work.
Thank you for your flexibility, and please stay safe.

At Thursday night's KCS Board of Education meeting, our newly formed KCS Student Leadership Team was officially introduced to the Board. This group includes student leaders from across the district, with two students representing each middle school and each high school.
High school co-presidents Blake Leavitt (Riverside HS) and Miley Mullins (Nitro HS) shared the team’s goals, followed by introductions from each student leader representing their school.
We’re proud of these students for stepping into this role to help shape the future of KCS. 👏🎓
**Due to athletics and other prior obligations, some members of the Student Leadership Team could not attend last night's meeting and are not pictured here.

All employees are to report to work at their normal time if they can do so safely. Please notify your immediate supervisor.
